Mark Kallenberger

Mark Kallenberger is a founding principal of Kallenberger Jones & Co. and has 30 years of experience in hospitality real estate consulting. Mr. Kallenberger has served as a principal of Arthur Andersen & Co. and the West Coast partner in the hospitality consulting firm of Berins & Co. He also held various positions with the international CPA firm of Pannell Kerr Forster in Hawaii and Southern California.

While Mr. Kallenberger has been principally involved in evaluating existing and proposed hotels, he also has considerable “hands-on” experience in the development of resort and hospitality projects. He managed the development of a 550-unit resort housing project in
Hawaii for a subsidiary of the Swire Group. He also served as a principal in Pentagram Development Corporation, and was responsible for much of the development of a variety of projects, including site acquisition, the entitlement process, the arranging of financing, and the supervision of construction. He was also employed as the Director of Hotel Development for the Carver Companies, where he was charged with the development of hotels on lands owned by the company in Southern California.

Mr. Kallenberger has considerable experience with large resorts and tourism and is the co-author of “Integrated Tourist Resorts: Case Study Evaluations, published by the World Tourism Organization. Mr. Kallenberger is a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, and is a licensed Certified Gerneral Real Estate Appraiser in California.



Hank Jones

Hank Jones is a founding principal of Kallenberger Jones & Co. and has 20 years of experience in hospitality real estate consulting. Mr. Jones has experience in numerous national hotel markets including Southern California (Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Orange County, and Palm Springs); Southwest markets (Phoenix, Santa Fe); major Midwest markets (Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Detroit); and resort markets (Honolulu, Miami, and San Juan).

Prior to the formation of Kallenberger Jones & Co., Mr. Jones spent five years in the hospitality industry-consulting group at Arthur Andersen & Co. While at Arthur Andersen, Mr. Jones specialized in consulting for international hotels and spent several months in Europe and the Caribbean evaluating resort properties. Mr. Jones has also held consulting positions with Berins & Co. (a hotel consulting firm which was acquired by Arthur Andersen in 1989) and Laventhol & Horwath. In addition, Mr. Jones has worked in management and staff positions for Hyatt Hotels and Holiday Inns.

Mr. Jones graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received his BA in Economics, and from Cornell University, where he received a Masters Degree in Hotel Administration. Mr. Jones is a visiting lecturer at the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Cal Poly Pomona and has taught courses in Hospitality Finance and Accounting. Mr. Jones is a member, and past board member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC), current board member of the Raymond Alf Museum of Paleontology in Claremont, CA and Temple Beth David in Temple City, CA, and past board member of the South Pasadena Educational Foundation.
